DLA Piper advises Wynwood Brewing Company in partnership with Craft Brew Alliance

04 Aug 2017

DLA Piper represented Wynwood Brewing Company (WBC), a family-owned craft brewery based in Miami, in a strategic distributor alliance with Craft Brew Alliance (CBA), the fifth-largest brewing company in the US.

Under the agreement, CBA will receive a 24.5 percent share in the brewery and act as master distributor, expanding national marketing and product placement. In addition, WBC and CBA entered into a production services agreement allowing WBC to expand its production capacity through the use of the CBA production facility located in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. DLA Piper also advised Wynwood Brewing on matters related to the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau, including change of control and change of proprietorship implications.

The DLA Piper team representing Wynwood Brewing was led by partner Emil R. Infante (Miami) and included Co-Chair of the Food and Beverage sector Stefanie Fogel (Boston); associates Karina DuQuesne, Gregory Weigand (both of Miami) and Margaret Craig (Boston); and attorney Ashley Juchawski (Miami).
