The previous owners of Vitanas Holding GmbH ("VITANAS") and PFLEGEN & WOHNEN HAMBURG GmbH ("PFLEGEN & WOHNEN HAMBURG") have successfully completed the sale of the majority of their shares in the companies to the Oaktree group. Allen & Overy provided comprehensive advice to one of the sellers of PFLEGEN & WOHNEN HAMBURG in the sales process. Schrade & Partner acted as leading advisor to the VITANAS group on the sale. VITANAS and PFLEGEN & WOHNEN HAMBURG are among the largest private nursing home operators in Germany with a joint capacity for more than 8,300 residents.
PFLEGEN & WOHNEN HAMBURG is the largest private provider of residential care in Hamburg, providing services in 13 facilities in the city. The company offers regular residential care and short-term care for elderly people, care for younger adults, special care for dementia patients, patients in a vegetative state, patients subject to a commitment order, persons suffering from Korsakoff's syndrome and alcoholics, as well as inter-cultural care. In May 2017, PFLEGEN & WOHNEN HAMBURG had approximately 1,800 staff and offered 2,691 resident places in its Hamburg facilities.
