Kirkland & Ellis Advises GLP on Acquisition of IDI Gazeley

Kirkland & Ellis is advising Global Logistics Properties (GLP) on its acquisition of European logistics business IDI Gazeley from Brookfield Asset Management for approximately US$2.8 billion. IDI Gazeley is one of the leading owners and operators of logistics facilities in Europe with a portfolio of over 3 million sq metres in the UK, Germany, France and the Netherlands. The deal was announced on October 2, 2017 and is indicative of the increasing deal activity in the logistics and property sectors across Europe. The transaction includes debt financing of approximately US$1.2 billion.

The Kirkland team was led by London partner Michael Steele and included corporate partners Stuart Boyd and Mark Thompson, tax partners Jonathan Kandel and Ian Ferreira and finance partners Ben Myers and Richard Semple.
