Stephenson Harwood LLP, with its associated Chinese law firm Wei Tu, has advised BUPA UK on the establishment of its first clinic in China.
The team provided regulatory guidance to BUPA, and helped it to obtain the medical license for the clinic, which is based in Guangzhou's central business district. The clinic is equipped with the latest medical equipment, and offers a variety of high quality medical services, ranging from women's health, stress management, gastroenterology, and musculoskeletal health.
"This is an exciting strategic investment for our client, BUPA UK, as China's healthcare sector continues to develop," said CF Lui, partner, Stephenson Harwood. "The increasing demand for healthcare services in the country made this the perfect time for BUPA UK to take this step in expanding its business across the continent, and we look forward to continuing to work with BUPA UK as it further cements its presence in the region."
The team was led by Shanghai-based Stephenson Harwood corporate partner CF Lui and partners Zoe Zhou and Henry Zhu, as well as associates Jingyi Zhu and Karen Wang from Wei Tu.
