24 Nov 2017

Latest IPO Raises £45m For US Technology Firm Boku And Its Investors

Leading direct carrier billing company, Boku, has raised £45m on its London Stock Exchange IPO in a deal on which Irwin Mitchell advised the company’s broker, Peel Hunt.

This is the third IPO that Irwin Mitchell has acted on since the summer and follows Warehouse REIT’s £150m IPO and Destiny Pharma £65m IPO.

Incorporated in 2008, Boku's technology enables mobile phone users to buy goods and services and charge them to their mobile phone bill or pre-pay balance. Its platform connects its customers, which include Apple, Google and Facebook, with billing, identity and sales systems of mobile network operators.

Boku’s placing on AIM has raised £45m and includes £15m being generated for the company and £30m for selling shareholders. Its market capitalisation at admission, based on the placing price, is £125m.

Simon Griffiths led Irwin Mitchell’s team advising broker Peel Hunt.
