Berwin Leighton Paisner advises Aberdeen on disposal of high-street property in Berlin

Berwin Leighton Paisner (BLP) have advised Aberdeen Asset Management Germany as investment manager on the sale of a mixed-used commercial building to DC Values who bought the object for their special real estate fund “DCV Highstreet Nr. 1”.

The property is located on Berlin’s prime shopping boulevard Kurfürstendamm 38/39 and offers a total area of 6,074 sq m across nine floors with 1,664 sq m of retail, 3,633 sq m office and 777 sq m of living space as well as 22 underground parking spaces. The main tenants include the fashion label Stefanel, grocery chain Netto and the traditional German brand for soft toys Steiff.

A BLP team led by Berlin partner Hanns-William Mülsch advised Aberdeen on real estate and tax matters. He was supported by Senior Associate Dominik Ernst (Tax) and Associate Vivian Weyreuther (Real Estate). Hanns-William Mülsch also advised the owner on the purchase of the property in 2013.
