Firm Advises on Sale of Synthomer Leuna GmbH to Alberdingk Boley GmbH

Squire Patton Boggs has acted for leading speciality chemicals company Synthomer plc on the sale of Synthomer Leuna GmbH to Alberdingk Boley GmbH, a manufacturer of environmentally friendly binders based in Krefeld, Germany.

With the acquisition of the company, Alberdingk Boley has taken over the Synthomer production site in Leuna, Saxony-Anhalt. Alberdingk Boley is an independent and globally operating middle-sized enterprise, founded in 1828. The site was acquired by Synthomer as part of the Hexion PAC acquisition in 2016. The sale, completed on 1 January 2018, will conclude the integration of Hexion PAC into the Synthomer Group.

The Squire Patton Boggs team that advised on the disposal of the Synthomer Leuna GmbH facility was led by Berlin Corporate partner Volker Heidbüchel, and included Corporate associate Sepp Wohlfarter and Antitrust – Competition partner Oliver Geiss in Brussels.
