DLA Piper has advised the international project developer and fund manager, Tishman Speyer, on the leasing of 9,500 square meters of its recently acquired "Pressehaus am Alexanderplatz," located on Karl Liebknecht Strasse, to the international internet and entertainment group Naspers.

The second major rental agreement in the building has been signed with Naspers and the tower is now fully let. The revitalisation of the building "Pressehaus" will be completed in 2019, and offers loft character office space of approximately 22,000 square meters.

Tishman Speyer is a leading international real estate owner, fund manager, developer and operator. Founded in 1978, the company has since acquired, developed and operated 390 assets totaling over 160 million square feet. Tishman Speyer has a real estate portfolio spanning across North America, Europe, Latin America, India and China with a total value of more than 81 billion USD employing more than 1410 employees worldwide.

Founded in 1915, Naspers is a global internet and entertainment group, and is one of the largest technology investors in the world. By signing the rental agreement, Naspers will expand its presence at its European headquarters in Berlin, employing approximately 1,200 people at the site.

The DLA Piper team in Frankfurt was led by Real Estate counsel Christian Lonquich, assisted by Tax counsel Dr Raimund Behnes and Cologne-based Real Estate associate Dr Heiner Feldhaus. Christian Lonquich had repeatedly advised Tishman Speyer on previous rental agreements in this property.
