15 Feb 2018

Loyens & Loeff Luxembourg would like to announce that Willem Bon has joined the firm as partner in a move to consolidate their strength as the leading Luxembourg firm in international tax. Willem has extensive experience in assisting international clients in navigating cross-border tax rules. He has over 30 years of experience more or less evenly spread out over the international markets in London, Tokyo and Sao Paulo. Willem rejoins Loyens & Loeff from EY, where he was a partner in international tax. He had been with Loyens & Loeff previously for close to 25 years. He will focus on clients based in the Americas and he brings extensive knowledge and experience to the tax team of Loyens & Loeff, having led complex and high-profile international tax projects for global companies throughout his career. Willem is noted for his experience in helping clients to understand how international tax rules impact their overall tax position and the importance of proactive approaches to identifying and mitigating risks.

Veronique Hoffeld – Managing Partner of the firm in Luxembourg says: Businesses come to us when they face critical issues and desire to access the multidisciplinary integrated advice and client-centric approach we provide through the international Loyens & Loeff network. With his strong track record, Willem will provide valuable strategic leadership as we respond to the needs of clients facing a changing geopolitical landscape and complex regulatory environment. I look forward to working closely with Willem and his team.

Willem Bon says: Businesses are under increased scrutiny and pressure to strengthen their international tax strategy. It is a privilege to rejoin Loyens & Loeff at this time. My focus is on working for clients based in the Americas and elsewhere, together with our international team of tax specialists, compliance and other professionals to address the complex challenges clients are facing.
