Continuing the firm’s ongoing buildout of its corporate offering in New York, Pillsbury announced today the addition of Michael Flynn as a partner. Flynn, whose practice focuses on corporate law, venture capital, private equity and mergers and acquisitions, joins the firm from Norton Rose Fulbright.
Mike is a talented lawyer with a growing practice, and we’re pleased to have him join us, said Pillsbury Chair David Dekker. His arrival expands our corporate offering in New York and enhances our global emerging growth, venture and M&A capabilities.
Flynn represents venture capital firms, private equity funds, strategic investors and other investors at all stages, from early-stage investment to complex restructurings for troubled portfolio companies. He counsels technology, fintech and life sciences clients in public and private mergers and acquisitions, public and private debt and equity financing, joint ventures, licensing arrangements and other complex commercial matters. He also provides regular pro bono assistance to non-profit healthcare organizations and the Transgender Legal Defense & Education Fund, for which he formerly served as a board member.
Mike’s practice is a perfect fit for what we are building in New York, said Corporate Practice Leader Bob Robbins. He is a team player, he’s embedded in the New York business community and he brings a diverse set of skills to the table—but he’s a dealmaker first and foremost. We’re very happy to welcome him to our growing team.
Flynn’s arrival comes just two months after Pillsbury recruited former Latham & Watkins partner Stephen Amdur in New York. Amdur, a highly regarded corporate lawyer who was recognized as a next generation lawyer by Legal 500 U.S., recently counseled global merchant bank The Raine Group as it made a significant investment in international indie studio Propagate Content.
Pillsbury checked all the boxes for me: a strong international reputation, an established presence in key U.S. markets, a culture that emphasizes collaboration and collegiality and a platform that is well-suited to my clients’ legal needs, said Flynn. I’m thrilled to join the firm and look forward to growing my practice alongside my new colleagues.
