PARTNER MOVES - K&L Gates Boosts Construction and Infrastructure Practice with Milan Partner Hire

18 Jan 2018

The Milan office of global law firm K&L Gates LLP welcomes Luca Sommariva as a partner in its construction and infrastructure practice. He joins the firm from Gattai, Minoli, Agostinelli & Partners.

Sommariva focuses his practice on domestic and international construction projects, advising employers, engineers/architects, contractors, and sub-contractors in negotiating and drafting a broad variety of construction-related contracts, managing claims during the performance of the work, and representing clients in highly complex disputes including contractual, corporate, and bankruptcy litigation. A visiting lecturer with the University of Stuttgart Master of Business Engineer program International Construction: Practice and Law, Sommariva speaks Italian, English, and French and also will spend a significant amount of time at the firm’s London office.

We are delighted to welcome Luca to our team, and to add capabilities in an area of practice with great potential for development and synergies with our current legal services offerings, said Giampaolo Salsi, administrative partner of K&L Gates’ Milan office. Luca’s arrival marks yet another important step in the continuing growth of the Milan office and demonstrates the firm’s commitment to establish itself as a primary pan-European legal practice.

The lawyers in K&L Gates’ Milan office work seamlessly across the firm’s global platform to provide advice to clients in complex business transactions, corporate restructurings, and commercial disputes as well as to assist Italian clients in establishing businesses throughout the world. Sommariva is the second partner to join K&L Gates’ Milan office in the past six months, following the mid-2017 addition of investment management lawyer Giovanni Meschia.
