PARTNER MOVES - Paul Hastings Boosts Asia Practice with M&A and Compliance Partner in Tokyo

Paul Hastings LLP, a leading global law firm, announced today that Eiji Kobayashi, a corporate M&A and compliance/investigations lawyer, has joined the firm as a partner in the Corporate practice in Tokyo, Japan. He joins from Norton Rose Fulbright where he was a partner and Head of Corporate, M&A and Securities for Japan.  His corporate team totaling four other people is expected to join in the coming weeks.

Eiji and his team will strengthen our Asia Corporate practice in a strategically important location for our clients by helping them with their complex outbound acquisitions, cross-border investigations and compliance challenges, said Seth Zachary, chair of Paul Hastings. Mr. Kobayashi’s practice focuses on advising Japanese corporations on outbound investments and M&A transactions. He also handles compliance and regulatory investigations for Japanese industrial companies. He has advised on a number of transactions across industry sectors including life sciences and healthcare, energy, technology and innovation, financial institutions and transport.
