King & Spalding advised H-Energy Mideast DMCC (HEMD), part of H-Energy Global and the LNG unit of Indian real estate business Hiranandani Group, on its LNG sale and purchase agreement to purchase fuel from Petronas LNG Ltd, a subsidiary of Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas).

The agreement, which was signed on 24 January 2018, marked Petronas’ first term LNG contract to India. This also builds on H-Energy’s pioneering LNG infrastructure projects in India to contribute to the country’s goal of doubling the consumption of natural gas in its energy mix to 15 percent in three years. The value of the transaction and volume of the LNG remain confidential.
