Baker McKenzie acted as Australian and U.S. legal counsel to RBC Capital Markets and Morgans Corporate Limited, as joint lead managers of a fully underwritten A$50 million institutional placement by Megaport Limited and a secondary sell-down by Mr Bevan Slattery, Chairman of Megaport Limited.
Baker McKenzie's Head of Capital Markets in Australia, Craig Andrade stated: "We were delighted to act for our clients RBC and Morgans. The funds raised by Megaport will be used to upgrade network capacity, accelerate expansion to new locations and new markets, and fund staffing, marketing and operating costs and general working capital requirements."
Craig was assisted by associate Matthew De Cataldo, with partner Andrew Reilly and senior associate Paul Anderson acting as U.S. legal counsel on the transaction.
Earlier this week Baker McKenzie acted for Sundance Energy in connection with it’s A$331 million equity raising to fund the acquisition of certain Eagle Ford Shale properties in the United States, and also on the issue of A$750 million Floating Rate Subordinated Notes due 2028 by DBS Group Holdings under DBS's A$30 billion Global Medium Term Note Programme.
