Taylor Wessing advises Balderton Capital on a USD 25 million Series A financing round in Infarm

26 Mar 2018

Infarm, Europe’s urban farming leader has raised USD 25 million in a Series A financing round led by Balderton Capital with participation of TriplePoint Capital, Mons Investments LLC, as well as existing investors Cherry Ventures, QUADIA and LocalGlobe. The international law firm Taylor Wessing advised Balderton Capital regarding all legal aspects of this financing round.

Infarm, founded in 2013, has developed an in-store farming system which is capable of growing herbs, vegetables and fruit without soil and sun. Their box-like farming units automatically regulate pH levels, temperature, irrigation and nutrient density by using purple LED light and sensors. Over 50 of these modular greenhouse systems are currently used in supermarkets, restaurants and warehouses in Berlin. Infarm will launch operations in Paris, London, Copenhagen, and other German cities later this year.

Balderton Capital is Europe’s largest early-stage venture capital investor, focused on European technology companies at Series A. Based in London, the firm manages USD 2.6 billion and invests in entrepreneurs building globally ambitious businesses.
