DLA Piper won a significant victory for its client, Maryland Reclamation Associates, Inc.(MRA), in a case filed against Harford County, Maryland, in the Harford County Circuit Court. The jury awarded MRA more than US$45 million in damages.
The long-running case has been litigated in local, state and federal court for close to three decades. "The jury clearly recognized the importance of both business owners' and citizens' property rights in the state, and we are pleased with the outcome," said Brett Ingerman, chief counsel for MRA and DLA Piper's Baltimore office managing partner.
The DLA Piper team representing MRA was led by partner Brett Ingerman, and included associates Ellen Dew and Nicole Kozlowski, and Rachael Kessler (all of Baltimore).
MRA was also represented by attorney Robert Cawood of Cawood & Cawood, LLC.
