Bird & Bird advises the Finnish construction equipment rental company, Renta (a portfolio company to the Finnish private equity firm Intera Partners) in their international expansion through the acquisition of the Swedish Stål & Hyr Group.

The owners of Stål & Hyr Group, Accent Equity and minority shareholders, have agreed to divest Stål & Hyr Group to Renta, a leading Finnish construction equipment rental company established in 2016. Renta has since then seen steady growth, mainly by establishing new depots, and are now operating nationwide with over 25 depots throughout Finland. Total net sales 2018 (pro forma) for the Renta group after the acquisition is expected to be approximately 110 MEUR and the group will have over 300 employees.

The acquisition of Stål & Hyr Group is Renta's first step in its ambition to, within two years, operate nationwide in Sweden and to expand further internationally.

The transaction is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2018, following customary approval from the Swedish Competition Authority.
