DLA Piper has advised Waterlogic on its 100% acquisition of Melbourne-headquartered Billi, a leading designer, manufacturer and distributor of boiling, chilled and sparkling filtered drinking water under-the-sink units operating in Australia, the UK and international markets.
Waterlogic is a UK-based designer, manufacturer, distributor and service provider of purified drinking water dispensers and is a portfolio company of European PE firm Castik Capital.
This is Waterlogic’s 16th acquisition to-date, preceded by recent deals in the US, UK, Australia and parts of Europe.
The DLA Piper team was led by Melbourne Corporate partner Dr Gerry Bean with senior associate Dylan Burke, solicitor Stephanie Glover and assisting the team was foreign legal associate Bradley Heath. Colleagues from DLA Piper offices in the UK, Singapore and Hong Kong also supported on the acquisition with regulatory and other advice.
According to Waterlogic CEO Australasia, Carl Crowley, both companies have already enjoyed a 15-year partnership, with Waterlogic using Billi units throughout Australia and UK.
Waterlogic Group CEO Jeremy Ben-David said "the acquisition of Billi aligns two best-in-class brands with high-end technology, reputation for quality and customer service, and complementary product portfolios. This combination will position Waterlogic as the total water solutions provider and significantly advance our global growth."
Gerry Bean said: "We are delighted to have advised Waterlogic on this latest acquisition of Billi Group, building on their strategic partnership over the past 15 years. Over the past five years our firm has advised Waterlogic on their entry into the Australian market and on numerous other acquisitions in Australia. We are thrilled to work with them again to support their international growth."
