Norton Rose Fulbright advises HSBC on US$416 million H-shares placement of BAIC Motor Corporation

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has advised Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited as placing agent on the 420 million H-shares placement of BAIC Motor Corporation Limited.

Beijing-based BAIC Motor Corporation has raised net proceeds of US$416 million for the H-shares placement. BAIC Motor Corporation Limited is principally engaged in the manufacture and sales of passenger vehicles, engines and auto parts in China. It also established joint ventures with international brands including Mercedes-Benz and Hyundai Motor.

The Norton Rose Fulbright team of the deal was led head of Hong Kong Psyche Tai and assisted Hong Kong partner Doris Ng and associate Timothy Lam.

Norton Rose Fulbright has advised HSBC and other joint sponsors on the 2014 Hong Kong initial public offering of BAIC Motor, which raised US$1.5 billion.
