Ashurst has advised Cleanaway Operations Pty Ltd (Cleanaway) on its up to A$50 million investment in a joint venture entity, established by ResourceCo Holdings Pty Ltd, to operate a waste to energy plant in Wetherill Park, Sydney which converts commercial and industrial waste into a process engineered fuel.

The facility is the only one of its kind on the East Coast of Australia and enables Cleanaway to increase waste internalisation rates and, importantly, to offer an advanced resource recovery solution to its customers.

The Ashurst team was led by partner Anton Harris (Corporate) and included lawyer Callum Newson-Brown (Corporate); partner Kenneth Tang (Global Loans); and partner Alyssa Phillips (Competition).
