27 Aug 2018

DLA Piper has advised Baring Vostok, a private equity fund investing in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States, on its acquisition of a minority stake in Itransition, a leading Belarusian software solutions developer and full-spectrum IT services provider.

The partnership's main focus will be on strengthening Itransition's foothold in its key markets of the European Union and the United States. Founded 20 years ago, Itransition has become one of the leading Belarusian software developers, with offices located in Belarus, Russia, the UK and the US. The company employs around 2,000 staff.

The transaction required complex cross border advice, delivered by multi-jurisdictional teams. It was led by DLA Piper's Global Co-Chair of the Emerging Growth and Venture Capital practice Leo Batalov in Moscow, supported by Corporate senior associate, Andrei Sheetkin. The UK team was led by London Corporate partner, Jon Kenworthy, alongside associate, Dylan Kennett. In Amsterdam, Corporate partner Casper Hamersma led on the deal, supported by associate, Diederik Schuurmans, and Palo Alto-based Corporate associate, Anton Ziajka in the US.
