Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner Advises Cloud&Heat during Series-B- Financing

11 Oct 2018

Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner's German Corporate and Venture Capital Team, under the lead of Partner Dr. Michael Leue and Associate Dr. Maximilian Karacz, has advised the technology company Cloud&Heat Technologies GmbH, which successfully completed another round of financing in August.

The specialist for the development and distribution of energy efficient data centers received 10 million euros from two international investors. The investment was led by ETF Partners (ETF), based in London. Once more, Inven Capital, Sicav, a.s. (Inven Capital), based in Czech Republic, also participated in the transaction. Cloud&Heat is experiencing strong growth through the sale of in-house designed and patented technology it sells to leading energy suppliers, large corporations and next generation service providers. The new assets will be used to support international expansion, especially into the US and Asia as well as to further develop innovative concepts.

Cloud&Heat designs, builds and operates green, water-cooled public and private cloud data centers and also offers containerized solutions. The company's products are unique in reusing up to 90 percent of server heat. The company offers private and public cloud solutions based on OpenStack in two different business areas, one being customized IT infrastructure solutions such as data centers in a box (DiaB) or data center containers (DC) for KMU and the other large IT-infrastructures with a combination of cloud and heat solutions. In both business areas the newest generation of patented hot water direct cooling, developed by Cloud&Heat, is being used.

ETF Partner supports entrepreneur and management teams with investment assets and experience. The funds stem from institutional investors, global companies and family offices. INVEN CAPITAL is a venture capital fund established by the CEZ-Group and the European investment bank (EIB). The financial aid of EIB is supported by the European Union via the European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI).
