DLA Piper has been advising the Italian private equity investor Synergo SGR during the sale of the Cartonplast Group to the British private equity company Stirling Square Capital Partners. The transaction took place as part of a structured bidding process.
Cartonplast, headquartered in Dietzenbach (Hesse, Germany), has some 400 employees and is the European market leader in the field of rental, marketing and service for polypropylene layer-pads, which are used as intermediate layers in the transport of glass containers and cans in the food and beverages industry.
Stirling Square Capital Partners is a private equity fund based in London that invests in assets with a value of between 50 and 500 million euros. The company manages two funds with a total investment capital of 777 million euros and has carried out 17 investments since it was founded in 2003.

During the transaction, Stirling Square Capital Partners were represented by Latham & Watkins in the persons of partner Dr Stefan Widder and associate Nils Röver.
