Slaughter and May advised SVG Capital plc on its strategic alliance with Aberdeen Asset Management plc, creating a leading private equity fund management business with £4.7 billion of funds under management or advice. Aberdeen will acquire a majority stake in SVG Advisers for cash consideration of £17.5 million, and SVG Capital will enjoy on-going income from the business and certain Aberdeen private equity contracts. The transaction is subject to regulatory consent and certain other customary matters and is expected to be completed in the first half of 2013.
