Shoosmiths' Milton Keynes-based corporate team has helped secure a £2.5m investment for software company Celaton.

Celaton is a Milton Keynes-based business and the funding was received from the Business Growth Fund (BGF).

Shoosmiths acted for Celaton and its management team. The Shoosmiths team was led by corporate partner Sanjeev Sharma with assistance from corporate solicitor Claire Green and trainee solicitor Felicity Forward.

Celaton software is delivered as a service to streamline and automate the processing of inbound information streams, specifically unstructured content that organisations receive every day by post, paper, fax and email.

The company was founded in 2004 by Andrew Anderson and Gary Grant, following the MBO of Redrock Technologies from Netstore and the acquisition of DG Tech.

BGF's investment will support the extension of Celaton's sales and marketing infrastructure within both the public and private sectors.

Shoosmiths' Sharma said: "Celaton has a very strong management team and BGF's decision to invest shows their confidence in the business."

Celaton's Anderson said of the Shoosmiths team: "An incredibly professional team that not only delivered on every promise but were a real delight to work with."
