Brown Rudnick announced that Daniel Healy has joined the Firm’s Washington, D.C., office as a partner in the Commercial Litigation practice, bringing over 20 years of trial and litigation experience.
Healy represents policyholders seeking insurance coverage. He also litigates all areas of intellectual property and counsels companies that operate with blockchain technology on potential risks.
“Dan is an accomplished trial lawyer and litigator with a long track record of helping companies solve their litigation challenges and manage risk,” said Sunni Beville, managing director of Brown Rudnick’s Dispute Resolution & Restructuring Department. “His skill and insight will bring tremendous value to the Firm and our clients.”
Healy previously was a partner at Anderson Kill, where he began his legal career. Then he served over five years as a trial attorney in the Tax Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. He appeared as lead trial counsel in federal and state courts across the country, received numerous “Outstanding Attorney” awards and served as the e-discovery coordinator for the Tax Division. He returned to Anderson Kill as a partner, where he served as deputy co-chair of its Cyber Insurance Recovery practice and worked with Stephen Palley, who joined Brown Rudnick in September to co-chair the Digital Commerce practice.
“I am so excited to reunite with Dan, a versatile trial lawyer and litigator who has successfully recovered billions of dollars in insurance for corporate policyholders, and who can immediately step in to support our ongoing clients and matters,” said Palley. “His addition further enhances the breadth and depth of our dispute practice.”
In addition to his experience representing corporate policyholders in obtaining insurance coverage, Healy has represented clients in a variety of industries, including transportation, finance, manufacturing, retail, technology and hospitality. He has represented trademark owners in disputes involving domain names, cybersquatting, online infringement and reverse confusion, has appeared before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board and has litigated claims of unfair competition, copyright infringement and patent infringement. He also successfully represented a client against the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
“Brown Rudnick’s reputation as a litigation powerhouse made this an attractive and exciting choice for this next phase of my career,” Healy said. “I look forward to collaborating with world-class lawyers and leveraging the firm’s platform to provide outstanding service to clients.”
Healy received a B.A. from Siena College and a J.D. from Fordham University School of Law.
