PARTNER MOVES - BCLP launches Luxembourg desk in Paris with addition of partner Ambroise Foerster

08 Dec 2023

International law firm Bryan Cave Leighton Pasiner (BCLP) strengthens its presence in Paris and Europe with the launch of its Luxembourg Desk and the appointment of Ambroise Foerster as a partner.

BCLP has chosen Paris to launch a dedicated Luxembourg Desk, led and launched by Ambroise, with the goal to provide clients with an increasingly comprehensive range of services for all their legal needs and to operate in different jurisdictions.

Luxembourg is a leading player in the European regulation of investment funds and ranks second worldwide for the volume of assets under management. The region plays a key role in the distribution of funds on the continent, and in attracting and deploying foreign investment for European and international economic operators.

The creation of BCLP’s Luxembourg Desk meets a growing demand from the firm's clients for high-level advice in Luxembourg law. At the same time, it will help strengthen the offerings of the firm's Corporate, Finance and Real Estate teams.

“The launch of this Desk is a unique opportunity to enhance synergies between our various offices in the US and in continental Europe — especially between the Paris and German offices — and to provide a key platform for many of our clients worldwide,” said Carol Osborne, partner and global department leader of Corporate and Finance Transactions at BCLP.

Olivier Mesmin, co-managing partner of the BCLP Paris office, said, “The launch of this first international desk in Europe reflects BCLP's deep commitment to its clients to meet their emerging expectations. This initiative also demonstrates our ability to innovate and mobilize all necessary resources internally through an integrated platform to realize their development projects, whether on a national or international scale.”

Ambroise, who will join BCLP in January 2024, advises clients, including investors, lenders and borrowers, private and institutional entities, real estate/infrastructure funds, private equity and venture capital, in transactional matters.

Ambroise was head of the Luxembourg Desk at DLA Piper and then as a counsel in the corporate team of Allen & Overy Luxembourg, where he worked both in France and Luxembourg.

Ambroise also possesses excellent knowledge of the US, UK and German markets, a valuable asset for strengthening the existing co-operation between the Paris office and other BCLP offices in these jurisdictions.

Ambroise said, “I am delighted to join BCLP to take on this new challenge. Through my previous experiences, I have seen how valuable Luxembourg law expertise is for economic players. I look forward to enhancing this offering with my future colleagues as I embark on this exciting project with BCLP.”
