10 Jan 2024

Global law firm Dentons has expanded its Corporate and Restructuring practices with the recruitment of lawyer and business mediator Hans Beyer as a partner in its Frankfurt office. In his new role at Dentons, he will draw on his many years of experience in corporate law and M&A transactions as well as restructuring and insolvency. He joined the firm from K&L Gates.

Hans Beyer provides both buy-side and sell-side advice on M&A transactions, including distressed M&A, as well as other corporate law advice. In addition, he represents companies in out-of-court restructuring, restructuring proceedings in accordance with StaRUG, structured self-administration, protective shield, and insolvency plan proceedings. He also advises board members, managing directors and supervisory boards on compliance and liability issues.

In recent years, he has advised several companies from the real estate, technology and consumer electronics sectors on their restructuring by means of StaRUG proceedings, as well as an automotive supplier on its sale out of insolvency to a German consortium of investors.  He has assisted national and international investors in the acquisition of shareholdings and assets and has also acted for issuers and creditors on issues relating to the restructuring of bonds.

Andreas Ziegenhagen, Germany Managing Partner and Co-Head of the German and Head of the European Restructuring Practice: “The strengthening of our Corporate and Restructuring services is a strong signal for our clients in the current challenging market situation. With his expertise, Hans Beyer is an excellent addition to our team in Germany and on a global level.”

“With the hire of Hans Beyer, we will have another strong pillar in our Corporate and M&A practice for advising on complex corporate law projects and transactions, which sometimes include reorganization and restructuring aspects,” adds Dr Robert Weber, Co-Head of Corporate in Germany.

Hans Beyer comments on his move: “Dentons’ Corporate and Restructuring practices have developed very dynamically in recent years and offer clients high-quality comprehensive advisory both nationally and internationally. I am very pleased to be able to contribute my expertise in both areas and in particular at the important intersection between corporate advice and restructuring.”

With this addition, Dentons’ Restructuring practice in Germany now includes 23 lawyers, while its Corporate practice includes more than 90 lawyers.
