PARTNER MOVES - Proskauer welcomes Kieran Murphy to real estate practice

Proskauer, a leading international law firm, is pleased to welcome Kieran Murphy as a partner in its Real Estate practice in New York. Kieran brings deep experience in the real estate markets, with notable expertise in mortgage and mezzanine lending, joint ventures, distressed real estate, sale-leasebacks and complex acquisitions and dispositions.

“Kieran’s expertise meshes seamlessly with Proskauer’s focus to be the number one firm for private capital and the sectors in which they invest. Real estate is a core practice for us, and Kieran will be a terrific asset to our Firm,” said Tim Mungovan, Chairman of Proskauer.

Kieran focuses his practice on private equity investors in real estate and represents private funds, money center banks and other providers of real estate capital in a variety of financing and equity real estate transactions. He earned his Bachelor of Arts from Washington and Lee University and his Juris Doctor from Fordham Law School.

“Kieran is a skilled lawyer and as investors look for new opportunities in real estate, including special situations and private credit, his experience with managers will be a terrific addition to our team. Recent matters include advising Vantage Data Centers on a $9.2 billion equity investment led by DigitalBridge (NYSE: DBRG) and Silverlake; advising Extell Development Company in the development and financing of a number of development projects in Midtown Manhattan, including mortgage and mezzanine construction financing for Central Park Tower, the tallest residential building in the world; and representing Ares Management Corporation in its acquisition of Capital Automotive LLC and its subsidiaries (“CARS”) from Brookfield Strategic Real Estate Partners.
