30 Sep 2024

Global law firm Clifford Chance announces that data and cybersecurity expert Patrice Navarro will join the firm as a partner in its Paris office. Effective October, Patrice Navarro’s appointment will further enhance Clifford Chance’s Global Tech Group capabilities.

Patrice Navarro joins from Hogan Lovells, where he was part of a practice specialising in data, cybersecurity, and technology law. He brings extensive experience spanning multiple sectors including healthcare, finance, automotive, telecommunications, media, and technology, and artificial intelligence innovation.

Jonathan Kewley, Co-Head of the global Clifford Chance Tech Group, said: The tech revolution means that every company is now a tech company - all of us are adapting at speed to the new reality of AI and tech transformation. With that comes a complex web of transactional and regulatory issues. This rapidly evolving landscape requires not just advanced technology, but also robust legal strategies. Having Patrice on the team will further enhance our ability to help clients navigate these critical tech issues on a global scale.

Dessi Savova, Head of Tech Group for Continental Europe at Clifford Chance, said: We are thrilled to welcome Patrice to our team. His extensive experience in tech and digital matters, from data and cybersecurity to commercial and IT law, across multiple sectors, comes at a crucial time. The increasing complexity of digital regulations in Europe is placing unprecedented scrutiny on our clients. Patrice’s arrival will not only enhance our capabilities for clients in Paris, which is one of Europe's leading tech hubs, but also across the EU.

This latest hire underscores Clifford Chance's ongoing commitment to continue to build its technology & AI offering for clients. Notable recent hires in the Global Tech Group include tech partner Holger Lutz in 2023, as well as IP partners Stefan Richter and Tobias Hessel in 2022, which have enhanced the firm’s capabilities in the tech sector. Globally, the firm has also expanded its tech expertise with the addition of partner Stella Cramer in Asia, and four lateral tech hires in the US over the past year.
