PARTNER MOVES - Dentons national employment & safety expertise complimented with addition of partner Jackie Hamilton and two special counsel

01 Oct 2024

Dentons’ national Employment & Safety expertise elevates threefold, with the addition, from Holding Redlich, of Partner, Jackie Hamilton and Special Counsel, Lara Hues and Christie Toy to its Brisbane office. The growth follows the appointment in Sydney of Employment & Safety Partners Justin Le Blond and Persephone Stuckey-Clarke, along with their team in March.

“We are eager to welcome Jackie, Lara and Christie to our Employment & Safety team”, said Nick Linke, Dentons’ Australia Employment & Safety Practice Group Leader, and Partner. “Onboarding Jackie, Lara, and Christie further solidifies our commitment to client service in this progressively complex field of law. Their expertise boosts our bench strength and is a proactive stride towards pre-empting and addressing our clients' growing needs.”

Between them, Jackie, Lara and Christie have vast experience in public sector employment law, spanning some 50 years that has been acquired during their employment at both Crown Law and Holding Redlich. Over this period, they have worked exclusively in advising and representing State Government departments and entities in employment matters and will bring a wealth of knowledge to Dentons.

Specialising in workplace law, Jackie, Lara and Christie have advised and represented clients on a wide range of employment, discrimination, discipline and industrial relations issues.

Prior to her employment as a Partner at Holding Redlich, Jackie worked for Crown Law for 20 years, with 10 of those years in the role of Assistant Crown Solicitor, when she managed a large team of workplace lawyers.

Expressing her, Lara and Christie’s enthusiasm about joining Dentons, Jackie stated, In light of the recent extensive employment reforms, it is crucial to be part of a dynamic team that supports and encourages a forward-thinking perspective to the increasing complexities of employment law. It’s also paramount that clients not only stay compliant but also stay one step ahead so Dentons' reputation for in-depth expertise, innovative tactics and proactive client service aligns perfectly with our approach.

With Jackie's appointment, Dentons' Employment & Safety practice now boasts a team of seven partners, further solidifying its position as a global firm with proven Australian workplace relations experience. The addition of Lara and Christie raises the national team to a talented group of 19 lawyers dedicated to providing specialised and comprehensive legal solutions to clients.
