Law firm Stephenson Harwood LLP has strengthened its commercial litigation practice with the addition of Tim Knight. He joins the firm in London as a partner.
Tim's practice involves a wide spectrum of general commercial litigation, with particular expertise in competition litigation. He has managed high value litigation through the entire life cycle of a case, from the inception of proceedings until the conclusion of trial. His experience includes acting on multiple, high value follow-on damages claims in the Competition Appeal Tribunal, and the appellate courts, involving complex and novel issues of competition law which have helped to shape the law on competition damages claims, and the collective proceedings regime. He has also acted on high-profile securities litigation in the High Court, defending claims brought in relation to s.90 FSMA and at common law.
The group actions and competition litigation market is extremely busy at the moment, and is one of the fastest developing areas in the UK legal market, said Genevieve Quierin, partner and Head of Stephenson Harwood's Group Actions and Competition team. Adding a lawyer of Tim's experience and specific skillset will allow us to meet the growing demand for specialist support in this area. He has a wealth of experience in this space, having worked on Royal Mail v DAF, a leading competition damages claim, both at first instance and in the court of appeal, and on the Glencore s.90/s.90A FSMA securities litigation.
As a firm, we offer our clients significant expertise in large scale, multi-jurisdictional collective redress, protecting our broad base of corporate clients in both a claimant and a defendant capacity as well as providing early stage proactive advice with an eye on resolving disputes before they reach the courts. Tim began his career at Stephenson Harwood and we are delighted that he has decided to return, where his defence side experience will be a valuable addition to the team.
Stephenson Harwood's award-winning international commercial litigation team advises on the full range of commercial and similar disputes. The team represents clients in High Court litigation, multi-party stand-alone and follow-on claims in the Competition Appeal Tribunal, international and domestic arbitration, co-ordinates proceedings in multiple jurisdictions and advises on various regulatory and other investigations.
