Global law firm Clifford Chance announces that Gianluca Fanti has been appointed as a partner in its Global Financial Markets team based in Milan, as the firm expands its European structured debt and special situations team. He joins the firm from White and Case in early 2025.
With more than 20 years of experience, Gianluca advises Italian and global investment banks, funds and financial sponsors on bespoke structured debt solutions, drawing on expertise across a wide range of debt products including distressed investments, special situations, real estate finance and asset backed finance. As a leading practitioner in the European finance market, he also has extensive experience advising banks on distressed investments and the establishment of alternative lending platforms and direct lending.
This significant move in the Italian market follows a series of recent lateral hires joining Clifford Chance from US firms in the Private Credit space across Europe, including Arnaud Fromion and Frédéric Guilloux in Paris, as well as Aimee Sharman, Matt Lilley and Blake Jones in London.
