17 Feb 2025

Clifford Chance is pleased to announce the hire of David Por, a highly-regarded and accomplished patent and IP litigator. The appointment marks a significant milestone in our firm's growth and strategic development to meet the growing client demand for global IP expertise.
David Por until recently presided the Association des Praticiens Européens des Brevets. With more than 20 years' experience, his practice covers all fields of intellectual property and concentrates on complex and cross-border patent disputes, including before French domestic courts and the UPC. David Por represents clients in a wide variety of industrial sectors, with a particular focus on Technology, Media, and Telecommunications, Healthcare & Life Sciences, Consumer Goods & Retail, and Energy.

Stephen Reese, Co-Head of Global Intellectual Property, said: We are very excited to have David join our global team. He is well-known to us as one of the leading practitioners and brings significant expertise and experience to our practice for the benefit of our clients. This move demonstrates our unwavering commitment and continued investment in our leading global IP practice, building on the successful growth we have had in Germany and the UK. By committing to a strong presence in Paris, we are reinforcing our dedication to providing top-tier IP services across key jurisdictions.”

Claudia Milbradt, Co-Head of Global Intellectual Property, said: David's expertise will be instrumental in building and reinforcing our growing Unified Patent Court (UPC) practice, which is already robust in Germany. His arrival will enhance our ability to handle high-profile and complex IP litigation across Europe, in particular before the Unified Patent Court (UPC).

Mathieu Remy, Paris Managing Partner at Clifford Chance, said: We are thrilled to welcome David to our team. His expertise will significantly enhance our Intellectual Property offering in Paris. This addition illustrates our dedication to meeting the increasing demand from our clients. By focusing on key sectors that heavily rely on IP advice, we are dedicated to offering premium services and tailored solutions across crucial jurisdictions.

David Por's expertise will be instrumental in continuing to build-out and reinforce our highly successful and growing Unified Patent Court (UPC) capability. Our capability in this regard is already robust in Germany, but the multi-jurisdictional presence of the Court and the fact it is becoming an increasingly important forum for our clients globally and across sectors, means that a strong presence in Paris is also important to win work. His arrival will enhance our ability to handle high-profile and complex IP litigation both in France but also with our IP colleagues across the Globe.
