25 Feb 2025

Cravath announced that Nicole M. Argentieri, who formerly served as Acting Assistant Attorney General in the U.S. Department of Justice’s Criminal Division, will join the Firm as a partner.

Ms. Argentieri will advise corporate and individual clients on civil and criminal matters, within Cravath’s Litigation Department as a member of its Investigations and Regulatory Enforcement Practice. She will be based in Cravath’s New York office.

Ms. Argentieri draws upon decades of experience as both a federal prosecutor and a defense lawyer in private practice. In her capacity as the Criminal Division’s Acting Assistant Attorney General and Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General, Ms. Argentieri supervised more than 1,400 prosecutors and staff members with respect to investigations and enforcement matters, including those involving transnational and organized crime, cybersecurity, public corruption, money laundering, securities and health care fraud, sanctions and intellectual property theft. In private practice, she has also successfully represented clients in investigations led by various federal and state authorities, including before Congressional inquiries and regulatory bodies.

“Nicole joins Cravath’s investigations and regulatory enforcement team, whose members have served in key leadership positions at the Department of Justice and the Securities and Exchange Commission,” said Faiza J. Saeed, Cravath’s presiding partner. “She brings experience both as a prosecutor and as defense counsel in complex, high‑profile investigations and that perspective will be invaluable to our clients in these high-stakes situations.”

“I am thrilled to join Cravath’s fantastic investigations team and look forward to helping the Firm’s exceptional clients navigate their most sensitive criminal, civil and regulatory challenges in this fast‑moving environment,” said Ms. Argentieri.

Ms. Argentieri received her J.D. cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 2002 and her B.A. from Columbia University in 1999.
