Eversheds Sutherland has appointed Partner, Simon Kenyon, as International Head of its Technology Media and Telecoms (TMT) disputes practice with effect from 1 April 2025.
Simon joins the global law firm after almost 27 years at DLA Piper LLP, where he was Co-Lead of its International Technology Disputes practice, Co-Head of its UK Technology Disputes practice and Lead UK Litigation Partner in its India Group.
Simon has built an extensive repertoire of advising on complex technology and outsourcing disputes, providing advice to both users and suppliers of IT, commercial and outsourcing services. His work typically involves acting on and navigating complex business-critical and flagship digital transformation projects, with a strong focus on risk management and dispute avoidance, as well as formal dispute resolution.
His clients include government departments, major retail banks, airlines, outsourcing and IT service providers, and various renowned multinational companies.
Over the last two decades, Simon has developed a formidable industry-wide reputation for successfully advising an array of private sector and government clients on claims related to some of the world's largest IT contracts.
Simon has for many years been ranked in the premier tier of the legal industry directory, Chambers and Partners, where he is praised for being “very experienced and practical in his approach” as well as being “technically strong and commercially astute.” He is also ranked as a ‘Leading Individual’ in the latest edition of Legal 500 and is described as “an excellent partner: [with] outstanding commercial sense and strategic acumen.”

Simon’s arrival follows the recruitment by Eversheds Sutherland of a number of highly regarded practitioners into its global Disputes practice. Most recently the firm welcomed Partners Lambros Kilaniotis from Quinn Emanuel and Joaquin “Jack” Terceño from Freshfields.
More widely, Eversheds Sutherland strengthened its company commercial capabilities with a number of hires including corporate and M&A partner Kristof Slootmans, tax partners Chantal Presilli and Zoya Zalmai, privacy and cyber security partner Maarten Stassen, litigation partner Gaetano Jannone, and restructuring partner Barney Smedley, also from DLA Piper.
