Squire Sanders is pleased to announce that it has advised KVH Industries, Inc on its acquisition of Headland Media Limited. UK-based Headland Media provides commercially licensed news and entertainment, including sports, film and music, to the shipping, hotel and retail markets worldwide. With offices in the UK, Europe, the US, India and the Philippines, Headland has a customer base that includes over 9,600 marine vessels.

KVH, based in Middletown, RI, is a leading manufacturer of solutions that provide high-speed Internet, television and voice services via satellite to mobile users at sea, on land, and in the air. The US$24m acquisition will support KVH’s strategy of extending its maritime broadband service to include the delivery of premium multimedia content to ships around the globe.

A London-based team from Squire Sanders led by partner James McKay advised KVH. The team included Richard Adair and Grace Higginson on corporate matters and media and entertainment sector specialists Robert Wegenek, Nessa McGill and Imogen McCarthy on the commercial aspects of the deal.
