Macfarlanes has acted for turnaround specialist Better Capital on its acquisition of City Link, the parcel delivery business, from Rentokil Initial plc.

The deal is effective immediately and will see Better Capital invest £40m in City Link, with the company's existing management team remaining in place.

Corporate partner Simon Perry led this transaction, commenting: "We've very much enjoyed working with the team at Better Capital on this important transaction, which involved some tight deadlines and input from a significant number of lawyers across the firm."
