PARTNER MOVES - Simmons Paris welcomes IP/IT partner Georgie Courtois

Simmons & Simmons announces the arrival of Georgie Courtois as Partner, along with his team, to its Paris office. Georgie joins the IP/IT team within the Litigation department, led by Jacques-Antoine Robert. This recruitment reflects the firm's commitment in Paris to enhance its expertise in innovative technologies, digital regulation, and intellectual property litigation, in a constantly evolving legal environment.

Georgie will focus on digital law matters (artificial intelligence, computing, internet, cryptology, data governance, GDPR) and Intellectual Property (anti-piracy and anti-counterfeiting, copyright, neighbouring rights, trademarks, patents). He joins the firm with two associates, Victoria Quirin and Camille Saunier.

With nearly two decades of experience, Georgie Courtois works on both advisory and litigation roles. He represents a wide range of clients (streaming platforms, cryptocurrency portfolios, software companies, etc.) in their complex litigation before civil, commercial, and criminal courts, as well as regulatory authorities. He also assists them in advisory matters, negotiation, and contract drafting.

Georgie Courtois holds a postgraduate degree in digital law and new technologies from the University of Paris I, and a master's degree in business law and commercial law from the University of Paris-XI. Prior to joining Simmons & Simmons, he spent his entire career at De Gaulle Fleurance, where he became a Partner in 2015. He has been a member of the Paris Bar since 2006.
