PARTNER MOVES - TLT real estate and future energy growth continues, with appointment of sixth Partner in four months

01 Aug 2025

National law firm TLT has hired commercial real estate and renewable energy specialist Nadia Wheeler as a Partner in its London office. Her appointment continues the rapid expansion of the firm’s future energy, real estate and infrastructure capabilities as the sixth accomplished partner to arrive in the past four months.
Nadia joins the firm from CMS bringing ten years’ experience in advising clients on real estate, energy and infrastructure projects. Her arrival comes at a time of rapid expansion for the firm’s Real Estate and Future Energy Teams, following the arrival of Duncan O Connor and Mustafa Latif-Aramesh in April, Colin Brown and Neal Bhattacharyya in May and June respectively, followed by Richard Marsh earlier in July. It also comes against the backdrop of the broader growth of the firm’s Future Energy, Infrastructure, Public Law and Planning teams, which in October will complete the arrival of 32 new lawyers, to form one of the largest groups of its kind in the UK.

Nadia’s practice includes extensive experience with renewable energy projects. She is one of few lawyers in the UK to specialise in onshore and offshore wind projects, and co-located battery and solar schemes. She is also dual qualified in England and Wales, and Scotland, boosting TLT’s Scottish future energy capabilities and its cross-border services.

Nadia has worked on some of the UK’s most significant energy projects contributing to the country’s net-zero efforts. For example, she has acted on the world's largest offshore wind farm and advised a leading global private markets manager on its acquisition and portfolio financing of the UK's largest co-located solar and battery portfolio. She has also advised on the real estate aspects of Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (requiring a Development Consent Order) under the Planning Act 2008.

Working closely with TLT’s Head of Future Energy and Real Estate, Maria Connolly, Nadia will provide strategic and innovative legal guidance to TLT’s key future energy clients including renewable energy developers and operators, investment firms and asset managers, and pan-European energy portfolios.

Nadia’s unrivalled market-insight and solutions-focused approach to advising the sector will complement TLT’s existing reputation in the industry across real estate, planning, consenting and regulatory matters related to large-scale energy projects.

Future Energy Partner Nadia Wheeler commented: “We are approaching a critical moment for the future energy sector, with the government looking to deploy its Clean Power 2030 Action Plan followed by a drive to net-zero by 2050. Achieving these ambitious targets will require expert legal guidance and in-depth knowledge to support businesses embedded in the sector.

“At such an important moment, there is nowhere better to be than at a firm which has been supporting the future energy sector since the very beginning. TLT has an outstanding reputation for its forward-thinking approach and deep sector expertise - I’m proud to now be part of it.”

Maria Connolly, Partner and Head of Future Energy and Real Estate at TLT added: “The Future Energy sector is at a pivotal moment of growth, presenting a wealth of opportunities for our clients across the UK. With the UK government actively pursuing large-scale energy projects to stimulate economic growth and achieve its net-zero goals, knowing how to navigate changes and opportunities ahead will be a top priority for those working in the sector.

“Nadia has an in-depth understanding of the future energy sector, and her expertise will be vital in preparing our clients for what comes next. We’re delighted to be welcoming Nadia to the team.”
