Nordea - divestment of its Polish banking, life and financing businesses to PKO

Slaughter and May, working with K&L Gates, Warsaw, is advising Nordea Bank AB (publ), registered in Sweden, on the English law aspects of the divestment of its Polish banking, financing and life insurance operations, including Nordea Bank Polska S.A., to PKO Bank Polski S.A.

The transaction, which was announced on 12 June 2013, is expected to be completed during 2013 and is subject to regulatory approvals. The English law aspects of the transaction comprise the arrangements for transitional risk sharing and funding support to be provided by Nordea in relation to certain mortgage loans originated by Nordea Bank Polska.
