Dentons has successfully advised Sobera Capital GmbH, a private equity company specialized in transactions on the secondary market, on the acquisition of BayTech Venture Capital GmbH & Co. KG. Sellers are Bayerische Landesbank, Bpifrance and Versicherungskammer Bayern as well as BayernLB Capital Partners. During the acquisition, Sobera Capital was backed by the investment company Unigestion, a leading and independent asset management company.
Among others, the portfolio of BayTech Venture Capital includes shares in EnOcean, a manufacturer of battery-free radio sensor systems, in the Medtech company Pieris, in Scaleo Chip, a Systems-on-Chip developer as well as in OneAccess, a provider for telecommunications service equipment.
The Dentons team led by Sebastian Schmid advised Sobera Capital on all legal and tax related issues in the context of this transaction. Sobera Capital has been a client of Dentons for many years – e.g. Dentons (at the time known as Salans) advised Sobera Capital regarding the sale of its shares in the company 4Care AG in the context of a Management Buy-Out.
