WFW advises Santander on the acquisition of three solar projects in Cornwall, Dorset and Norfolk totalling 56.6MW

09 Dec 2013

Watson, Farley & Williams has advised Santander on an investment in 3 solar PV projects on sites in Cornwall, Dorset and Norfolk, totaling 56.6MW.

WFW advised Santander on the provision of equity financing for the three projects by acquiring shares in individual project SPVs from British Solar Renewables.

London partner Richard Goodman led on the transaction at WFW and was supported by a team which included associates Pauline Page, (Projects/construction), Mike Kruger (Projects), Tanvir Dhanoa (Corporate), Gemma Wilkinson, Louise Kyle and Simon Folley (Real Estate), and partner Gareth Phillips with associates Francesca de Vita and Peter Cole (Projects/planning).

Richard Goodman, finance partner at WFW, said: “We were pleased to work closely with Santander on its latest investment in solar projects in the UK, further underlining both Santander’s and WFW’s commitment to and expertise in the renewable energy sector.”

In September 2013 WFW advised Santander on the pre-development acquisition of a 31.6 MW solar park in Suffolk, which will be one of the UK’s largest ground mounted solar projects.
