Sidley recently represented Digicel Asian Holdings Pte Limited on its agreement with Ooredoo Myanmar Limited to build and lease telecommunication towers to support the greenfield rollout of Ooredoo’s telecommunications network in Myanmar. The transaction was led by Gerard Hekker, a partner in the firm’s Singapore office. The Sidley Singapore team leveraged the firm’s extensive experience with telecommunication towers build-to-suit, tower leasing and sale and leaseback transactions in the ASEAN region to assist Digicel in completing this first-of-its-kind transaction in Myanmar within a compressed time frame.
