Linklaters has advised the global investment firm The Gores Group on the acquisition of SIG Deutsche Dachbaustoffe GmbH and Melle Dachbaustoffe GmbH. Both companies are market-leading specialist distributors of roofing products to the German market and are currently part of the international group SIG plc (LSE:SHI).

In acquiring the companies, The Gores Group intends to invest in their growth strategies by expanding their existing product offering and providing capital to support their acquisition strategies.

The Gores Group is focussed on acquiring controlling interests in mature and growing businesses. The renowned firm, headquartered in Los Angeles, provides operating experience and a flexible capital base and is thus the ideal financial and operational support to develop the businesses’ success and position them for growth. The Gores Group was founded in 1987 by Alec E. Gores and maintains offices in Boulder (Colorado, USA) and London.

SIG Deutsche Dachbaustoffe GmbH and Melle Dachbaustoffe GmbH maintain an extensive multi-region branch network, with a comprehensive product and service offering and excellent relationships with their customers and suppliers.
