Norton Rose Fulbright has advised on certain international aspects of the TZS 476 billion (approximately US$215 million) initial public offering of Vodacom Tanzania Public Limited Company, a leading telecommunications provider in Tanzania.
Norton Rose Fulbright recently advised the lenders in three major renewable energy project financings in Mexico, which are among the first deals to reach financial closing under Mexico’s new long-term clean energy auctions. The deals included two related solar PV energy plants, Solem One and Two, as well as one wind project, the El Mezquite wind farm.

Clifford Chance advised Mizuho Bank, Ltd. as administrative agent and lender, Mizuho Securities USA LLC as lead arranger, and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation as lead arranger and lender in connection with the US$396 million financing for the expansion of the Line 1 subway in Lima, Peru.
Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) advised a consortium of banks consisting of KfW IPEX-Bank, Natixis, Santander, CIBC, Commerzbank, Helaba, National Bank of Canada, Rabobank, Société Générale and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, as lenders on the €988m financing of the Deutsche Bucht offshore wind farm project. The 252 MW offshore wind project, which reached financial close in August 2017, is owned by Canadian energy company Northland Power Inc., which also owns two other similar projects.
Law firm Stephenson Harwood LLP has advised Cyberhub Fintech Holdings (Cyberhub) on its investment in GSX Group Limited, the parent of GSX Limited, which operates the Gibraltar Stock Exchange.
Allen & Overy has advised Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BofA Merrill), BNP Paribas and Citigroup in a landmark liability management transaction by PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP), Thailand’s leading petroleum exploration and production company.
The transaction allows PTT to take advantage of new regulations in Thailand to deliver significant tax benefits. It is the first transactions of its kind in Thailand, paving the way for similar deals in the future.

Interntional law firm Osborne Clarke has advised Prodigy Finance, a global fintech platform that provides postgraduate loans to international students with no alternative access to finance, on a $40 million Series C equity round led by international venture capital firm Index Ventures, with involvement from Balderton Capital and AlphaCode. The round was part of a larger $240m capital raise, with the remainder coming from a global investment bank.
