Allen & Overy wins IFLR award for MCI Group issuance of Czech law governed secured bonds

Allen & Overy received the "IFLR Czech Republic Law Firm of the year" award at the 18th Annual IFLR European Awards gala.
The awards, which recognise the most innovative deals, teams, firms and advisors in the industry, were held at the Savoy hotel in London last night. IFLR is the industry leader for awarding legal innovation.
 

Allen & Overy advises on GBP2.3 billion Green Investment Bank privatisation

Allen & Overy has advised the consortium comprising Macquarie Capital, Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets and the University Superannuation Scheme on the GBP2.3bn privatisation of the UK’s Green Investment Bank – the pioneering body created in 2012 by the UK Government which has supported nearly 100 green infrastructure projects in the UK to date.

DLA Piper has advised SEB AG, Structured Real Estate Finance, on the provision of a loan amounting to EUR 54.8 million to a US asset manager for the partial financing of a substantial retail property portfolio.

The property portfolio is spread over 24 different locations throughout Germany and primarily includes properties let to prominent chain operators.

White & Case LLP has advised Kaupthing ehf (Kaupthing) on the US$448.2 million (around ISK49 billion) private placement of 582,922,113 ordinary shares in Arion Bank by Kaupskil ehf., a subsidiary of Kaupthing, to Goldman Sachs International (through a wholly owned subsidiary) and funds managed by Attestor Capital, Och-Ziff Capital Management Group and Taconic Capital Advisors.

Slaughter and May is advising UK Green Investment Bank plc (GIB) as part of its sale by the Government to the Macquarie Group (Macquarie) which has been agreed. The transaction has a value of approximately £2.3bn, which covers the amounts already invested by GIB in green infrastructure projects (such funding received from the Government) as well as commitments by GIB in respect of future funding to such projects.

Sidley Advises AGC Holdings Limited on the Sale of Aegis to Capital Square Partners

Sidley is advising AGC Holdings Limited (a wholly owned portfolio company of Essar Global Limited) as international legal counsel on its sale of Aegis, a major global outsourcing company, to private equity firm Capital Square Partners. This transaction marks Essar Global’s complete exit from the business process outsourcing business.

Upon receipt of regulatory approvals and satisfaction of other customary closing conditions, the transaction is expected to close during the first quarter of FY 2017–18.
