Norton Rose Fulbright's Washington, DC and New York offices advised IDB (Inter-American Development Bank), Proparco (the private sector financing arm of Agence Française de Développement), DEG (Deutsche Investitions - und Entwicklungsgesellschaft), FMO (the Dutch development bank) and commercial B lenders on US$265m of loans to Kingston Freeport Terminal LTD (KFTL).

Advising on Japanese Operating Lease (aircraft financing transaction)

Allen & Overy advised COMMERZBANK Aktiengesellschaft in connection with a Japanese operating lease transaction including a call option (JOLCO) with Deutsche Lufthansa AG in respect of two Airbus A320-214 aircraft registered in Germany.

The JOLCO transaction, which is to involve Japanese equity and debt capital, was financed by COMMERZBANK Aktiengesellschaft, Tokyo branch.  COMMERZBANK Aktiengesellschaft, Luxembourg branch acted as security agent.

Clifford Chance advises ICBC on Central and Eastern European focused investment fund targeting €10 billion

Clifford Chance is advising the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) on the establishment of a European investment fund that is focused on projects in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). The fund is part of China's major initiative to develop a modern silk road – 'One Belt One Road', and was formally announced at the China and CEE Countries Summit in Riga, Latvia on 5 November 2016.

Financing the acquisition of the Philips quartz glass production by Thuringian quartz glass producer

With a Frankfurt-based team led by partner Thomas K. Schrell, the business law firm of Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek advised a banking syndicate on financing the acquisition of the quartz glass plant of Dutch technology group Philips by Thuringian quartz glass manufacturer QSIL. The syndicate of lenders, headed by Helaba, consists of savings banks. The financing volume was not disclosed.
 

Milbank Advises Lenders on US$573 Million Reliance Ethane Ship Financing

Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP advised the Korean export credit agency, Korea Trade Insurance Corporation (“K-sure”), the ECA co-ordinator, HSBC, the commercial facility co-ordinator, Standard Chartered Bank, the K-sure covered facility lenders and the commercial facility lenders, on the structuring and documentation of a complex multi-jurisdictional ethane ship financing for Reliance, marking the company’s biggest maritime initiative in recent times.
