Herbert Smith Freehills advises Clean Energy Finance Corporation on A$100m equity investment

Herbert Smith Freehills has advised the Clean Energy Finance Corporation (CEFC) on its A$100 million equity investment in the Australian Renewables Income Fund (Fund), which will be managed by the Infrastructure Capital Group.

The seed assets for the Fund are three wind farms which are currently operational across three Australian states.

The team from Herbert Smith Freehills advising CEFC comprised partner Fiona Smedley, senior associate Yorick Ng, and graduate Julian Vertoudakis.

Ashurst advises European Investment Bank on €30 million financing to MotorK

International law firm Ashurst advised the European Investment Bank (EIB) on a €30 million loan to Motork Srl, one of the first venture debt transactions in Italy.

It is a European Growth Finance Facility with an innovative quasi-equity financing scheme.

MotorK is a leading company in the digital automotive sector and a partner of over 90% of car companies active in Europe. The financing will be used over the next five years for the research and development of new digitalized platforms servicing car manufacturers.

Clifford Chance advises SMBC on US$1.62 billion syndicated loan for Indonesia's state-owned electricity firm, PLN

Leading international law firm Clifford Chance advised the lead arranger and structuring bank, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC), on the US$1.62 billion syndicated loan to Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN), Indonesia's state-owned electricity firm. The offshore US dollar credit facility with 20 international banks, signed on Oct 25, was the first of its kind for PLN.

MOGU Inc. Initial Public Offering and NYSE Listing

Davis Polk advised the underwriters on the SEC-registered initial public offering by MOGU Inc. of 4,750,000 American Depositary Shares, each representing 25 Class A ordinary shares, for total net proceeds of $61.8 million. MOGU has granted the underwriters an option to purchase up to an additional 712,500 ADSs. The ADSs are listed on the NYSE under the symbol “MOGU.”

Latham Advises UniCredit on its US$3 billion Senior Non-Preferred Notes Issuance

Transaction represents UniCredit’s first Senior Non-Preferred Issuance in US dollars and one of UniCredit’s largest issuances to date.

UniCredit SpA has successfully issued 5-year Senior Non-Preferred Notes for a total amount of US$3 billion as part of its US Global Medium Term Note Programme (GMTN) to a prime institutional investor.
