Linklaters supports Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley in Daimler’s exit from EADS

Linklaters has advised the investments banks Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley in their roles as joint bookrunners for Daimler AG in the disposal of its remaining 7.5% interest in the European Aeronautic, Defence and Space Co. (EADS). Institutional investors in particular were very interested in the approx. 61.1 million shares priced at €37 per share. EADS acquired shares for €600 million from the placement. Daimler plans to invest the approx. €2.2 billion proceeds from the sale in its global growth and technological development.

Largest thin film solar power plant in Germany to date

International legal practice Norton Rose has advised an international consortium of banks led by Bayerische Landesbank and UniCredit Bank AG on the financing of a portfolio of eight solar parks with a total capacity of 128.4 MWp located on the former Soviet military airbase Templin/Groß Dölln. It is the second largest solar power plant (and the largest thin film power plant) in Germany to date. The total investment costs amount to €200m, with a debt financing volume of over €150m.

Herbert Smith Freehills has acted as international counsel to Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited, DBS Bank Ltd., The Royal Bank of Scotland plc and Standard Chartered Bank, as joint lead managers in relation to the issuance of S$250 million 4.25% notes (the "Notes") due 2016 by Tata Communications (Netherlands) B.V., which were guaranteed by Tata Communications Limited.

Pinsent Masons advises Santander on £15m Reuse Glass loan

Pinsent Masons has provided vendor due diligence and acted as legal advisor to Santander in connection with the provision of banking facilities totalling £15m to Reuse Glass, the UK's largest purchaser and recycler of glass.

Operating from its glass treatment plants in Knottingley, Doncaster, South Kirkby and Harlow, Reuse currently processes around 30 per cent of the UK market's requirements.

DLA Piper acts on financing of Refresco

DLA Piper has represented ABN AMRO, Rabobank, BNP Paribas and Société Générale on the financing Refresco ahead of its anticipated merger with Gerber Emig. The transaction is subject to the approval of competition authorities, and is expected to be completed before the end of summer this year.

The merger between Refresco and Gerber Emig will create a pan-European bottler of soft drinks and fruit juices to serve retail and branded customers. Refresco will own 70% of the shares, the remaining 30% will be owned by the Gerber Emig.

Allen & Overy advises on the largest PPP construction project in Poland

Allen & Overy has advised Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego, Bank Pekao S.A. and PKO Bank Polski S.A. on financing a project comprising the design, development, construction and operation of a waste thermal treatment plant in Poznan', Poland by SITA Zielona Energia sp. z o.o. in the form of public-private partnership (PPP).

The amount of the facilities granted is almost PLN 900 million.

Clifford Chance advises ABN AMRO on financing the construction of Solliance Building at High Tech Campus Eindhoven

Clifford Chance advised ABN AMRO Bank NV in its role as lender of a loan to the Chalet Group for the construction of the Solliance Building, a high tech building located at the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven. Main tenant will be Solliance, which is a joint venture of TNO, TU Eindhoven, Holst Centre, ECN, imec and Forschungszentrum Julich, involved in the development of so-called roll-to-roll solar cell production.
